BAS Systems

Building Automation Systems or BAS comes in many variations and under many names. The latest buzz word is IoT or The Internet of Things. Other references would be Building Management Systems (BMS) or Energy Management Systems (EMS). The BAS can be a simple as a combination of programmable thermostats for the Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Equipment (HVAC) and time clocks for other devices such as lights or exhaust fans. Typically the BAS will be a system that will have all the HVAC and Lighting control integrated through a combination of communications Networks like BACNet, Lon, Modbus or Ethernet.
